What are we all about?
Living, laughing and loving!
Our family means everything to us, as well as our love for the great outdoors!

Hobbies and Talents

As you will see in the pictures on the photo page there is definately a love of the outdoors.

Dave is very avid as a fisherman and hunter. These loves have always been a huge part of his life.

Our youngest son Jesse has developed the same love for hunting and loves to go out with his Dad!

Our oldest son Pat is a Computer Tech. This all started a few years back when Dave and I bought him a computer desk and he got computer parts and built his own! He is a wonderful progarmmer and has been known to self-infect his own computer with a virus just to find a cure!

He just celebrated his 21st Birthday and then two days later, moved out into his first home. He's not my baby anymore! He has a wonderful woman in his life Katie, and her son Xander, he's the apple of my eye! They have recently married so that makes Dave and I instant Grandparents! We are defiantely loving that!

Our Daughter Cass has a love for Chevy Trucks, Country music and shooting Pool. She recently came back home and has brought another joy to our lives! His name is Bradley and he's just too cute! Boy this Grandma thing is cool...LOL

As for myself, well I love my family and my greatest talent is cooking! I think that it is my therapy on bad days, and I love planning big meals and get togethers!

The rest of our family is made up by our pets. There are the "Dynamic Duo" when it comes to hunting, Beau and Belle. And I have my little dog Snoopy as well as Cass' cat Andrew a.k.a. "Moo Kitty"

Recent Happenings

In May of 2002 after years of health problems I finally had a Hysterectomy! How wonderful to feel so much better!
On Sept. 30th 2002, I was involved in a serious car accident. Four surgeries have been preformed thus far with the probibility of more to follow. I spent 13 days at the Hospital after being there 3 months previous for the Hysterectomy. Needless to say I hate Hospitals about now!
I am in a wheelchair until I am allowed to begin physical therapy, and even then will more than likely still be "Hell on Wheels" for a bit longer.
To see a picture of the last x-ray when the plate, screws and pins were put in...go to the "What's New" page!

Update: 2/2004

Since my last update I have had 3 more surgeries. The heel was still broken come to find out, and I ended up having the ankle fused. I have been back in Physical Therapy and a wheelchair again, and it's looking like this may be all that can be done for me.

I will probably be going to a pain specialist very soon, and will officially be "Handicapped" very soon...at least I can get the good parking spaces! LOL

Update: 4/2004

Due to the amount of damge to my foot it will be amputated at the end of this month...life's getting more interesting now....

Update: 7/2004

I have been recently diagnosed with two rare brain conditions! Pseudotumor Cerebri and Chiari Malformation.

This has proven to be the most difficult right now. I have had over 40 spinal taps to reduce the pressure in my head and off my optic nerves. I have to see abvout getting a shunt placed in my brain to drain off the extra CSF (Spinal fluid) to keep from going blind or having a stroke!

11/2005

To date between the foot and the brain I now have had 18 surgeries in 3 years! The first VP shunt was placed 1 year ago, but I developed a VERY bad infection 2 weeks later and it had to be taken out! Hospital stay was 10 days. Was sent home on IV antibiotics, and back to spinal taps weekly until the infection (yes and infected shunt was the culprit!) was cleared. All hair was shaved off .

Shunt #2 was placed in Mar. and lasted 2 months this time! The end of the cather that runs into my belly let loose and decided to wrap around my liver twice and try to impale it to boot! Another 9 days stay, and home on IV antibiotics again....this is getting old! And my hair was just starting to grow back enough you couldn't tell I had surgery!

Shunt #3 was place in Sept. and I had to go back to the hospital once to get things checked but it looks good so far!Prognosis on hair? Asked my bald neurosurgeon if I was gonna look like him much longer?! LOL

Went to the Opthamologist to get eyes checked again. I had a loss of 75% of vision in my Left eye, and a 25% loss in the Right before the last shunt was placed. Now, the swelling on the optic nerve is gone,as is the bleeding behind my eyes meaning the shunt is doing it's thing! The downside? Permanent vision loss of 25% in the Left eye and 5% in the Right eye...the Doc says I'll get used to it! Hard to look at the world with gaping black spots in your vision! Doc says even if I get a vehicle I could drive, he won't clear me for driving! I'm a passenger for life now.

Also went to see a new neurologist in regards to continuing headaches. Not only are they caused by my PTC and Chiari, but I have vascular headaches on top of it...MIGRAINES! So my pain management regiment had 2 more meds added to it! Norco, pain patches, and preventative meds are daily. Add that to my meds for my phantom limb pain, and depression and I have a pharmacy!
